I was born in Burlington in 1978 when my family lived in a small
apartment on St. Paul Street. My family has deep roots in Burlington
and Vermont making me a fifth generation Vermonter. My civic pride
stems in part from my grandfather, Francis Cain, who was mayor of
Burlington in the 60s and 70s.
My professional background is in engineering and law but my true
passions lie in community service. In the past I've served the public
through representing abused and neglected children in family court and
representing troubled youth with school discipline issues; currently I
serve on the Burlington Telecommunications Advisory Committee.
My wife, Sandra, and I live on Park Street in a home that we renovated
ourselves with the help of our friends and family. I currently work
at IBM as a patent attorney. Sandra was recently laid off when her
employer closed its Burlington office.
